Our dog's name is Opie. We got him as a puppy thinking he was a Chiweenie (half Chihuahua, half Dachsund)! However, we soon found out we were deceived. We now think he's a dachsund/jack russel mix and he looks like he's a little disconnected. Almost like two separate puzzles being put together in the same spot.
He barks at anything and has tons of attitude. One day - he started barking and freaking out at something on our back porch. We kept looking, but not seeing anything. When we got down to his level, we realized he was all excited about his own reflection! Sometimes we don't think he's too bright, but we enjoy him all the same.
Opie sleeps under the blankets at night. He just burrows in with our son. I don't know how he manages to sleep under the blankets but that's his preferred spot! Here is his picture.... isn't he cute?

He looks just like a chiweenie! I have a black chiweenie 6 pounds. How much does your's weigh? She loves to burrough and sleep under the covers and she is really smart!
Hey - thanks for writing! Opie weighs about 20 pounds and the vet doesn't think he has any chihuahua in him. OH well - we love him anyway!
yes hi he is really cute, i have 2 chiweenies a 6 week old male and a 2 year old male. i love them both they have good temperments and are so funny to watch. my oldest one prince loves to play on the sliding board with my three kids and loves to play fetch.

Anway, my Sophie is a Chiweenie and I thought she was hyper! I bet it's like a tornado hitting your house daily!
Aww reminds me of my Chiweennie. Shes 6 months a little bit lighter in color and has a white chest and speckled white feet, she's about 10lbs. But your puppy is totally adorable. I cant believe how much they look alike. I must say yours photographs better :)
Your dog looks so much like my chiweenie Bijou...its kinda scaRY! she is about 11 lbs, the same color as yours and super hyper. she loves to fetch, burrow, run, and never wants to stop playing. she exhausts me, but she is so sweet and i love her to death!
Wow, my dog could be your dog's sister. We were told that our dog was a Shi'tzu dachshund mix. But we did research and decided she was jack russell instead of Shi'tzu. Her name is Sienna and she barks at everything and everyone. She will bark at our reflections in the fireplace. She
ALWAYS needs to play and she loves to sleep under the covers pressed up against one of us.
The first time she saw our full length mirror she couldn't understand why the doggie wouldn't come play with her, she even looked behind the mirror to find the doggie. We love her.
He is adorable! I have a 7 month old chiweenie names Phoebe. I have to say she is REALLY smart, BUT she does however bark at her reflection in the sliding glass door. She is actually a pretty good watch dog, haha. She also likes to burrow, I think that is the daschund in them :)
Hi I just got a chiweenie and his name is kinsler he looks just like you pup. He is so sweet we are still learning all about him.

I just rescued a little girl (Maggie) who's mom was mini dachshund and dad was 1/2 mini dachshund and 1/2 chihuahua....in other words Maggie is 3/4 mini dachshund and 1/4 chihuahua and your Opie looks just like her~
This looks like our Chi-Weenie,Bitsy. At 16 weeks, she now weighs. almost 14 pounds. My husband seems to think she's a pitbull and I even had someone tell me used to raise pits, and she looks like a pit puppy. But the vet seems to agree with the chi-weenie so far. I asked the previous owner if she was part miniature dachshund or standard size. Her response? "The one with the short legs." Um, yeah.... I'm serious. Maybe she's part full-sized dachshund which would make her bigger. Glad to hear that she looks like other chi-weenies out there.
